  • Michael Macaluso

    Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. Macaluso is chairman and CEO of Global Access CSG, a global merchant banking, private equity and advisory services firm. For more than two decades he has managed and successfully completed billions of dollars in cross-border and in-country transactions, projects, investments and ventures in many parts of the world, including the U.S., Greater China, Asia-Pacific generally, parts of the Middle East and Europe. As a practice leader and partner with global law firms, he pioneered the business model at the heart of Global Access; morphing his practice increasingly into a business advisory platform that served the growing demand created by U.S. and European business. For more than a decade, Mr. Macaluso was a senior member of the global treasury team of a $120 billion company with activities across three continents. During the financial crisis, he led teams restructuring or working out over $150 billion of liquidity for some of the world’s leading institutions. Mr. Macaluso regularly writes regarding markets in Asia and elsewhere.   • Helen Rosen

    Managing Director, New York

    Located in New York City, Ms. Rosen is a seasoned business strategist with more than 20 years of experience in strategy development and execution for Fortune 500 companies and early-stage ventures in the US, Israel, and Europe. She has held senior level positions in corporate strategy and strategic marketing with Coopers & Lybrand, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, and Infosys Consulting. Ms. Rosen brings depth of experience managing complex deals and engagements in the Financial Services, Insurance, Information Services, and IT industries. Ms. Rosen is also involved with start-up ventures in the financial services industry where she has held board level and advisory positions, providing guidance on and assistance with asset gathering, marketing, and strategy.

  • Andrew Shuster

    Managing Director, New York

    Mr. Shuster spent 23 years with the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, the UK-based global universal bank. The last nine years of his tenure at Barclays were in the UK, with a Western European remit. During this period, he headed up Barclays EMEA Securitized Finance business. Most recently, Mr. Shuster managed a multibillion-dollar portfolio of diversified securitized financings for Barclays. Prior to his UK assignment, he spent 14 years in Barclays NY office, where he was a senior member of the firm’s US Investment Banking team. Before his career at Barclays, Mr. Shuster was a consultant to Citicorp Venture Capital, Ltd.’s leveraged investment team, as well as holding positions in counter-party credit risk with Drexel Burnham Lambert and Bear Stearns. Andrew has extensive experience working with multi-national corporate entities (both investment grade and leveraged companies), captive-finance subsidiaries of large corporates, global financial institutions, financial sponsor firms, and specialty finance firms. He has worked with both early stage entities and mature companies. Geographically, Mr. Shuster has worked in the US, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia and Australia. Mr. Shuster holds a BS degree from Cornell University and an MBA from NYU’s Stern Graduate School of Business.

  • Martin Burke

    Advisor, New York

    Mr. Burke has over 26 years of career experience as an investment banker and advisor or executive officer to specialty finance companies, with a particular focus in real estate finance. Mr. Burke is also currently the Managing Partner of Credinvest, a private equity investment vehicle used to purchase interests in operating companies in the real estate finance, subprime and non-performing credit card and consumer receivables industry. He previously served as a Managing Director of Wind River LLC, a company specializing in reselling/financing the acquisition of major oil company-owned gas stations to franchisees. He has run or founded numerous companies such as: Ultimate Sports, co-founder and managing director, a public company in the comic book business that acquired the rights from the MLB, NBA and NFL for comic books; The Credit Store - chairman and CEO, an Amex exchange-traded credit card company and one of the nation’s leading specialty finance companies; and American Home Credit, co-founder, specializing in wholesale origination in the sub-prime and non-agency mortgage industry. Mr. Burke serves as an advisor to the board of Card Acquisition, a specialty credit card company. Previously he held advisory positions at firms that include JLB Equities (liquidation of a $100M portfolio of private real estate and small business loans), Onyx Partners, and G&L Realty REIT.

  • Lulu Zhou

    Managing Director, New York

    A native of China and a long-time resident of New York City, Ms. Zhou has spent much of her career in the area of public/private partnerships. She also advises on U.S. - China investments, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and assists companies and entrepreneurs in both countries in connection with their investments in the other. Ms. Zhou has also focused on the not-for-profit sector, in particular on corporate social responsibility and ideas showcasing responsible investing. Her work in public-private partnerships includes partnerships that have the goal of advancing progress on global issues.

  • Dr. R. Donald Keysser, CM&AA

    Managing Director, Minneapolis

    Dr. Keysser is a Managing Director located in our Minneapolis office. He has over 30 years’ experience in investment banking, project financing, business finance, mergers and acquisitions consulting, international business, due diligence and financial analysis. He has served as an advisor or senior investment banker on projects with a total value of over $2.5 billion. In addition to Hannover, Ltd., a consultancy which he founded and managed for over a decade, he also served as a principal or managing senior officer with investment banks Dain Rauscher, Inc. (now RBC Capital Markets), Miller & Schroeder Financial, and others. He has a doctorate degree in International Business and is an adjunct professor of finance at the University of Minnesota and St. Mary’s University.

  • Robert P. Lada

    Managing Director - Funds, Minneapolis

    Previously Robert was the CFO at Novus Healthcare, Inc. Prior to joining Novus in 2014, he served as the Managing Director of Wayzata Capital Management, Inc., a U.S. based money management conglomerate. While with Wayzata Capital, from 1998 till 2013, he managed all the main asset classes and a diverse range of financial ventures, with direct responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing all financial-related activities of the group. He served, from 2006 till 2014, as Director of Eastern Capital Fund Ltd., a hedge fund based in Geneva, Switzerland. He frequently traveled to Europe to support business growth and build relationships. His prior work experience includes investment research with Dain Rauscher, Inc. and sales, marketing and asset management with G.D.N. Securities, Ltd. Robert has more than 20 years of extensive experience in finance, strategic planning, investment banking, and overall Global capital markets. He holds a B.A. from Hamline University, St. Paul, received in 1993. He was born in Warsaw, Poland and currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  • Mark Rasmussen

    Managing Director, Minneapolis

    Mr. Rasmussen is an accomplished business leader and technical professional recognized for taking on highly complex problems and major initiatives, driving innovation and adapting to rapidly changing business conditions. He provides thought leadership in the areas of software architectures/ development, bioinformatics, health informatics, artificial intelligence, big data, DevOps, and cyber security with a special emphasis on Open Systems and cloud computing. He has been instrumental in creating multiple successful technology companies – personally selling two. He has been effective in helping grow three of the nation’s leading cloud services companies. As a frequent lecturer on authenticity and due-diligence, he has given both public and private talks (e.g. International Society of Appraisers, Internal Revenue Service, Harvard University, the Smithsonian Institution, and other leading museums and universities). In addition, Mr. Rasmussen has worked as an expert witness in authenticity disputes with leading law firms involving millions of dollars in disputed objects.

  • Scott Flaata

    Managing Director, Minneapolis

    Dr. Scott Flaata is an Internal Medicine Physician practicing in Minneapolis, MN. He is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (2001, 2011). He has held a number of physician leadership positions for a large multi-specialty group, including physician leadership for ambulatory medicine and as a senior physician serving in an executive advisory capacity for a quaternary hospital in Minneapolis. In 2016, Dr. Flaata served as the first innovation Fellow within the multi-specialty group whose mission was to advance whole-person healthcare. He focuses on advancing healthcare delivery engaging with patients, identifying and prototyping whole-person care initiatives, and identifying elements of healthcare delivery that matter most for patients while providing care and support. Dr. Flaata comes to healthcare from a background in the technology sector where he focused on information technology (IT) system integration and program management for healthcare IT initiatives. His knowledge in IT system integration serves as a foundation for designing and implementing seamless, enterprise-level, synergistic and patient centered care delivery systems.

  • Todd Vollmers

    Managing Director, Minneapolis

    Todd Vollmers has extensive international and business experience in the private sector and government. He previously served as an international transactional attorney with a law firm in Minneapolis and for a private equity firm with offices in Minneapolis and Shanghai. Prior to that, Todd served as a Senior Administrative Officer at the Minnesota Department of Commerce handling priority issues for the Commerce Commissioner. Todd also worked as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., where he managed legal issues related to U.S. government advocacy on behalf of U.S. companies with foreign governments, and foreign trade obligations arising under the World Trade Organization (WTO) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). He holds a Certificate in Chinese Business Law from Fudan University Law School, Shanghai; a Master of International Policy and Practice degree focusing on International Trade and Economics from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School; and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.

  • James Williams

    Managing Director, Minneapolis

    Mr. Williams has a proven track record of results-oriented professionalism through the cultivation of strategic trading relationships between businesses from Canada, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, West Africa and the United Kingdom. He has served in a variety of positions at Honeywell Inc. including, but not limited to, Senior Contracts Manager, Senior Counsel, Asia-Pacific General Counsel, and Director Business Development, World Wide Airports through its Home & Building Controls division. He has worked with Jostens as a Consultant for its United Kingdom business. He is also an accomplished entrepreneur having founded and serving as President & CEO to Global Vision Enterprises (GVE) which successfully consummated numerous commodity trade transactions between countries in Asia and Africa. Over the past 16 years, Mr. Williams has served as President & CEO of Life Force Therapies, Inc., a neurological medical clinic located in Plymouth, Minnesota specializing in treating a variety of brain injuries, including, but not limited to, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, stroke recovery, Lyme disease, autism, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis.

  • Dr. Nghia Vu

    Managing Director, Hanoi

    Dr. Vu leads Global Access in Vietnam. He founded investment bank CBV Securities in 2006. Since 2009, he has been CEO of joint venture Woori CBV Securities, an investment bank of Global Fortune 500 Company Woori Financial Group (NYSE: WF). In 2013 he was selected as an Andrew Carnegie New Leader, by the Carnegie Council on Ethics in International Affairs. Dr. Vu was the lead advisor in restructuring Vietnam’s largest coffee maker. With his assistance, the company has grown from a middle market sized entity to the number one coffee maker in Vietnam with total revenue of US$1.6 billion. In addition, Dr. Vu assisted a top 10 global business group in Asia (Lotte Group) in its investments in Vietnam. He is also a leading creator of indexes in Vietnam. In 2007, he created the first Vietnam Securities Index family (combining both Vietnamese stock exchanges), Vietnam Bond Indexes, VND-Index, Vietnam Investor Confidence Indexes and many others. Dr. Vu is an alumnus of both Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, and is Deputy Head of the Accounting, Financing & Auditing Department at Vietnam National University - Hanoi School of Business.

  • Bonna Bang

    Managing Director, Hong Kong

    Mr. Bang has 15 years of equity capital markets experience in a number of roles in Hong Kong. His experience includes funding companies from across China and Southeast Asia as well as the U.S. in consumer sectors such as food and beverage, healthcare, manufacturing and media. Most recently Mr. Bang sourced the private equity financing for one of Vietnam’s fastest growing companies and a healthcare services company in the U.S. He has extensive contacts with many Asia-based private equity firms, hedge funds and family offices.

  • Roger Barker

    Managing Director, Abu Dhabi

    Mr. Barker has over 20 years’ experience delivering consulting services in a diverse range of sectors in Europe and the Middle-East including decades of experience in the design and manufacture of capital engineering equipment solutions, cultural heritage assets, and other sectors, both nationally and internationally. In addition, Mr. Barker has held, and holds, numerous significant positions including with Power of the World General Trading, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., International trading, MENA Regions – Middle East, North Africa and Brazil, and with Al Ufuq Company for Oil Services, Baghdad, Iraq. Mr. Barker has also been Managing Director of Horizon Middle East Ltd, a U.K. registered company specializing in advisory and consultancy services.
